Kylian Mbappe equaled the record for the fastest goal as he scored after eight seconds in Paris Saint-Germain’s 7-1 win over Lille on Sunday.

The 2022/23 Ligue 1 season started with favorites Paris Saint-Germain already strong and left the rest of the group in its wake. They scored another high-scoring win over Lille on Sunday to cement their position at the top of the table.

Ligue 1 is perhaps the most biased league in Europe, with Paris Saint-Germain being the dominant force in Ligue 1.

Paris Club has a tight grip on the league. They’ve won the title in every season for the past 10 years, with the exception of two occasions. The burden of money from Qatar gives them an overwhelming advantage over other clubs, which cannot compete with that financial strength.

The new season saw PSG start on a bright note, eliminating every team before them without mercy. The French champions have some of the best legs in the game, and Galtier is proving to the rest of the league that they are not in the same category.

Mbappe, Neymar and Messi score in the Lille defeat

After the third week of the new season, PSG is already in the lead. The capital club is creating fear in the opposition as its attackers appear to be vying for who will score the most goals. Galtier will be more than impressed with the performance his wards have been delivering this season.

On Sunday night, Kylian Mbappe scored the fastest goal of the season. The opening goal for the 7-1 win over Lille came eight seconds into the match and is the fastest in 30 years. It set the tone for a long evening for the visitors, with PSG keeping the start of the new season at 100%.

Paris Saint-Germain has not backed away from gas since the start of the season. Created by Lionel Messi, Mbappe barely started the match for the Frenchman to equal Michel Rio’s record for Caen against Caen in 1992.

Mbappe scored a hat-trick in Paris Saint-Germain’s 7-1 victory over Lille. Neymar and Lionel Messi also participated in the event, with the Brazilian scoring two goals and Achraf Hakimi brightening the score.

Paris Saint-Germain scored 17 goals in the first three games and conceded only three. The Paris team is two points ahead of its closest rivals Racing Lens and Olympique Marseille.

Sunday matches summary

While PSG were regaining their grip on the league, others were trying to keep pace with the defending champions.

Auxerre and Stade Brest claimed their first win of the season, taking their first three points on the road, while Claremont and Stade Rennes also won their home games this weekend.

There were a lot of cards this weekend as the referees issued a total of 11 red cards. It’s the first time this has happened in 30 years. A 2-1 away win for newly promoted Auxerre at Montpellier produced four red cards.

While Auxerre, Stade Brest, Stade Rennes and Claremont were winning their matches, Toulouse had to rally from behind to pick a point against Lorient. Toulouse trailed early in the second minute but struggled to secure a 2-2 draw with Lorient.
