Premier League side Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign defender Diego Carlos from Sevilla.
Carlos will travel to England in the next few hours to complete the medical terms and finalize the personal terms. As reported by Sky Sports, the fee is understood to be around £26m.
A club statement read: “Aston Villa can confirm that the club has reached an agreement with Sevilla FC for the transfer of Diego Carlos for an undisclosed fee.”
Diego Carlos, a Brazilian central defender, has been a constant presence in Sevilla’s successful campaigns in La Liga and Europe over the past three seasons, playing 136 games, including a triumphant Sevilla appearance in the 2020 Europa League final against Inter Milan.
