JUST IN: Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny signs new contract

Arsenal have announced that midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed a new contract with the North London club.

Elneny has been a key member of the Arsenal squad since he signed with the Gunners in 2016 from FC Basel.

“I love this club and I feel part of this family,” Al-Masry told Arsenal Media.

“I want to continue at this great club and great family and I am very happy and very excited for the future.”

Mikel Arteta also said: “Mo is a really important part of the team. He brings endless energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the team and is loved by everyone. He is an important player for us both on and off the field, a real role model for our young players and I am happy to keep him.”

The 29-year-old played 147 games, scored five goals and provided 10 assists.
