Spanish giants Barcelona are in ‘advanced talks’ over a deal to sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea this summer.
Talks between Barcelona and Chelsea full back Marcos Alonso are at an advanced stage, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Alonso has reportedly expressed his intention to return to his native Spain, but the two clubs have yet to agree a deal.
Barcelona are said to be uninterested in paying big fees as Alonso has only one year left on his contract after the current season ends.
Barcelona is also known to have struck a two-year deal with a third option on the table for Alonso’s teammate, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
Thomas Tuchel admitted this week that the Spain international may be considering ending his time at Stamford Bridge.
Discussions between Barcelona and Marcos Alonso are well advanced. He just wants to go back to Spain as soon as possible. 🇪🇸 #F.C.B
Alonso’s deal will depend on the price, he is still waiting for Chelsea’s decision. Barcelona does not intend to pay a huge fee because his contract will expire in 2023. https://t.co/SBjzJEqTZF
