Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted his team’s chances are “unlikely” after their 2-1 win over Southampton on Tuesday night.
The Reds found themselves behind after 19 minutes of play at St Mary’s thanks to an early Nathan Redmond goal. However, Takumi Minamino scored the equalizer before Joel Matip scored the winning goal in the 67th minute.
Liverpool host Wolverhampton at Anfield, while City play Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium, but Klopp insists Pep Guardiola’s men are still on their way to winning the Premier League title again.
When asked if he still considered Liverpool’s title chances unlikely, he answered, “Of course, that is unlikely because City play at home against Aston Villa, who only play on Thursday. It will be difficult against Burnley, they are fighting to survive.”
“But it’s football. I think it’s time for City to become champions [in 2019] It was due to 11 mm. If someone wants to be champion, we have to win first and Aston Villa have to get a point in City.”
“It’s possible, it’s not possible, but it’s possible. That’s enough.”
We are proud of our fighting abilities 🙌
