It is expected that Manchester United will reveal the list of players released in the double digits at the end of the season.
Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani, as well as fourth goalkeeper Lee Grant, all expire next month.
Last season, United activated one-year options in Mata, Cavani and Grant’s contracts, as well as extensions on Pogba and Lingard’s contracts.
Matic refused to extend his contract for another year and announced his exit last month, but United first said they had signed a deal that will run until 2023.
Ondrej Mastney, Rhys Devine, Charlie Wells, and Conor Stanley, as well as forwards Demane Mellor and Matthew Mejia, are all out of contract at the academy level.

Mejia and Wellens, both 19, have one-year options in their contracts, although it is uncertain whether either will be used.
Devine spent this season on loan at St Johnston in the Scottish Premier League and Walsall in League Two, Stanley played for Atlanta United’s reserve team, and Mellor spent five months at Salford City.
Stanley has already signed with a new club for this summer, while final decisions on Mastney, Devin and Mellor have yet to be made.
With the final month of Dylan Levitt’s contract approaching, it is unclear whether United will do the one-year extension under his contract.
After a season-long loan in the Scottish Premier League, Levitt, 21, is expected to be awarded Dundee United’s Player of the Year. Last year, he represented Wales in the European Championship, although his only appearance for United came in the Europa League group stage defeat to Astana in November 2019.
In 2020, the United Academy’s duty of care to departing players was lauded, as they are still allowed access to Carrington’s training facilities. United can also help players find new clubs.
