🚨BREAKING: Man City confirms deal to sign Erling Haaland

English Premier League club Manchester City have signed an agreement to sign Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

City said in a statement: “Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the club on July 1, 2022.

“The transfer remains subject to the club’s final terms with the player.”

City are believed to have taken the 21-year-old for a fee of around £55m after they triggered the release clause which was earlier thought to be around £60m but has now been revealed to be lower.

Haaland has been one of the most sought-after players of the transfer window, with a handful of clubs showing interest in acquiring him. The struggle for his signature was finally left to Real Madrid and City with the latter obtaining him after a series of negotiations.

Reports indicate that the player has agreed to a five-year deal and will be one of the highest paid players on the squad. Sources say he will be in the same earning class as Kevin De Bruyne, the club’s highest earner, but his contract includes plenty of bonuses that could pay him off the Belgian’s salary.
