Ohio is perhaps one of the most competitive states when it comes to competition, with a host of different professional sports teams located within its borders.
There are teams competing with each other in a variety of different sports, while the state is known for some of the most popular franchises of all time. Those who follow basketball and the NBA will know about the Cleveland Cavaliers, while those who watch American football will know right away about the rivalry between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns. There are even sports teams that compete in the NHL and MLB, highlighting just how influential the Ohio State sport really is.
FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew will want to be the best in Ohio
On top of that, there are two football club teams who continue to fight and fight to be the best in the state, with FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew competing against each other in the MLS every season.
Both teams play in the Eastern Conference of the League and this season has seen both teams appear to be fairly evenly matched in terms of results obtained.
Cincinnati
FC Cincinnati currently finds itself higher in the league at the moment, although this may be due to the fact that they have played one more game than their state rivals, with the team playing a total of 11 games so far.
Managed by Chris Albright and playing away from TQL, the franchise has won five out of their 11 games, however, they have also suffered five defeats as well. The only draw for the season so far came against Atlanta United in a match that saw Nick Haglund sent off in the 77th minute.

Currently, the team is in great shape at the moment, with FC Cincinnati managing to win their last three games on the rebound, having scored victories against FC Toronto in back-to-back games, as well as collecting three points. Against Minnesota with an exceptional late goal from Brandon Vasquez.
In fact, the model comes at a good time for franchising as well, as they will want to be able to go ahead and make MLS Qualifiers Once the postseason arrives. Since their debut as one of the MLS expansion teams, they have yet to play in the playoffs, having placed 24th, 25th and 27th overall in the three completed seasons they have participated in so far.
Fans will want the teams to be as competitive as possible
Of course, there will be many who support the Ohio-based football club who will wonder if the fourth campaign is magic. Indeed, there will be many who will hope to be able to represent the country in the post-season period for the first time, especially since sports betting is expected to come to the region soon.

However, the team has been able to rediscover their form and have been able to find some stability in recent performances which has helped improve their scores even further. This included a 3-0 win over DC United recently.
Which team will be the best in Ohio?
Of course, there will be plenty in Ohio State who will be watching intently in terms of how well the MLS clubs representing the state do, and it’s likely that nearly everyone will want to see both teams make MLS after the season is over.
However, is one team perhaps in a better position than the other at the moment?
Some would argue that FC Cincinnati is as well, but that could only be based on the current position in the league. They are only higher because they were able to get three extra points from the extra match played at this point.
But, it’s worth noting that while both teams missed last season’s playoffs, the Columbus Crew have a better knowledge and understanding of what it takes to get there than FC Cincinnati – a team that has never played in the post-season and is still going strong. He’s finished the league fairly modestly since his debut.
However, what we do know is that both teams will do their best to be the best team in Ohio, which may eventually give them everything they need to make the NBA playoffs by the end of the current campaign.
