According to German media reports, Borussia Dortmund is very close to concluding a deal to sign one of Salzburg’s most influential strikers, Karim Adeyemi.

Kiehl, the man in the race to take over as Dortmund’s sporting director, is very optimistic about the German club’s ousting of Man United in the pursuit of Ademi.

Karim Adeyemi signed for RB Salzburg in 2018 but due to his inexperience, he was immediately loaned to the nutrition team.

Adeyemi quickly adapted to the playing style of the second division as in his first season, participating in 20 matches, scoring six goals and scoring four assists.

The striker will continue to impress even more next season as he scored nine goals in 14 matches.

His impressive stats at Leifering, the Salzburg fed team, were convincing enough for the first team to call him up again.

In his first full season with Salzburg, the striker continued to exceed expectations as he scored seven goals, along with seven assists from the 29 games he played.

His contributions were very influential in Salzburg winning the league that season. Adeyemi has continued that level into the current season with six goals in six opening matches, attracting the interest of the major European clubs.

As it stands, he currently tops the list with 17 goals as the top scorer in the Austrian league.

Karim Adeyemi gives preference to the German side over EPL options

Perhaps it is no surprise that Premier League clubs Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in the transfer of the Salzburg striker. Regardless, Borussia Dortmund remains the favorite to sign the striker.

In line with recent reports, Karim Adeyemi would prefer a move to Dortmund over the Premier League.

Dortmund is said to be optimistic about signing Adeyemi, as he could come on as Haaland’s replacement. The Norwegian striker is likely to end up at Manchester City this summer, with the Premier League champions reportedly close to agreeing on a move.

Signing with Adeyemi and selling Haaland in the same window would make sense for Borussia Dortmund. They will use the money from Haaland’s massive sale to sign Adeyemi and may still have some money left over to sign other players.

Unlike other clubs, Borussia Dortmund has thrived on impressive buys and sells rather than exorbitant spending and this could be another case again.
