Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Roberto Firmino has resumed training ahead of the weekend’s clash.
Firmino sustained a foot injury in the final moments of the FA Cup semi-final win at the beginning of April, forcing him to miss the last five matches.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, as reported by the Anfield Watch Twitter account, Klopp provided a fitness update on Roberto Firmino ahead of tomorrow’s game at Anfield.
“I don’t know anything about Bobby, but he’s back in training, so we have to make a decision,” Klopp said. “He didn’t do much, and he had to let it settle.”
Much has been made of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota and Firmino can now play an important role in the second round as the Reds look to make history.
