Europa League top scorers: Rangers defender goes clear at the top

Rangers defender James Tavernier, ahead of Lyon striker Karl Toko Ekambi and Braga’s Galeano, is the top scorer in the European League.

Tavenir. The only player from the leading trio still in the tournament continued his form in front of goal as he opened the scoring in Rangers’ surprise 2-1 win over RB Leipzig in the second leg of Thursday’s semi-final.

All seven of the defender’s goals came in the knockout stages, including his two scoring when he knocked out Scottish club Braga in the quarter-finals.

In terms of assists, Filip Kostic of Frankfurt is still topping the charts with five assists, and he has a chance to increase his tally.

He is one by one ahead of Florian Wirtz, Ricardo Horta and Iori Medeiros, as all players are no longer in competition.
