Tottenham set to sign England international keeper Sam Johnstone

Tottenham Hotspur from the Premier League are preparing to attack West Bromwich Albion for goalkeeper Sam Johnston.

Johnston has always been a constant figure under Gareth Southgate in England and with the World Cup looming in the summer he wants to be part of a Premier League side to boost his chances of making it to Qatar.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is hoping to add a reserve goalkeeper to his squad in the upcoming window and is interested in signing the Man United academy graduate.

The Telegraph also reports, that a replacement for Hugo Lloris is one of six positions Conte wants to strengthen this summer, the others being centre-back, right-back, central midfielder and forward.

Johnston will be available for nothing once Baggies’ contract expires at the end of the season. The goalkeeper was dropped from the team earlier this month by coach Steve Price after continuing uncertainty about his future.
