Karim Benzema has overtaken Real Madrid striker Robert Lewandowski as the top scorer in the Champions League this season.
The Frenchman has been in high gear for the Spanish giants and is now an obvious candidate for this season’s Champions League Golden Boot.
The 34-year-old continued his scoring run with a double in the first leg of Tuesday night’s semi-final against Man City as Los Blancos lost 4-3.
This was the third consecutive game he scored more than once, having scored a hat-trick in his last two pre-match matches at the Etihad.
And he raised his tally for this season to 14, one difference ahead of Lewandowski, who defeated Bayern Munich in the quarter-final against Villarreal.
Here is the arrangement.
