Ousmane Dembele set for Barcelona stay

Ousmane Dembele is set to make a turn and sign a new contract with giants LaLiga FC Barcelona.

The Frenchman’s current deal expires next month, and he has yet to sign a new deal with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and a host of teams in Europe who are said to be interested in his services.

While the club hierarchy is already planning life without the winger, coach Xavi Hernandez is a huge fan of the player and has handed him matches despite his club contract status with the player happy to continue with the club.

Although there were still some bad decisions on the pitch, Dembele returned the favor to his manager by becoming a leading assist-maker in La Liga with Karim Benzema, where he scored 11 goals.

According to Sport, sporting director Matteo Alemani traveled to Morocco to speak to Dembele’s agent last month, and Moussa Sissoko responded by signaling a return to Barcelona this week.

The first meeting between the two parties was positive. Although there is still a distance between supply and demand, Dembele has shown a willingness to cut his salary drastically in order to continue at the club.
