Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has finally received an official offer ahead of his exit from Old Trafford in the summer.
Pogba recalls time in his Manchester United career after two separate stints at the club between 2011 and 2012, and 2016 and 2022. Both stints were largely unsuccessful for the French player, who won several league titles in four years at Juventus, and played in the Serie A final The UEFA Champions League, as well as playing in the Euro 2016 final before winning the World Cup and the UEFA Nations League with France.
Man United presented Pogba with the European League title and the European Football Association Cup (Carabao), which he won in his first season at the club. Since then, he has been a scapegoat for many when they talked about the club’s failings.
His contract expires in June and he has opted to continue his career elsewhere. After his association with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, foot mercato Reports now indicate that the 29-year-old has received his first official offer.
Paris Saint-Germain made an offer with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola to make him the best free transfer of the summer, as they did with Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum last summer.
The offer comes after Pep Guardiola rejected the French player on behalf of Manchester City last week. City’s latest rejection will be the second in four years, as Pogba does not fit the profile of players that Guardiola is looking for.
The links with Barcelona have disappeared in the media, but the links with Juventus and Real Madrid remain. PSG will have to convince Pogba and Raiola with an offer they cannot refuse in order to convince the former European golden boy to sign on their behalf.
It may also be a way for the Parisians to keep Kylian Mbappe, who is still contemplating his future at the club with Real Madrid lurking in the shadows for his signature.
Paris Saint-Germain has promised to sign players that Mbappe will agree to and his friendship with Pogba can be used to make the World Cup winners wear the colors of France’s most successful clubs next season.
Meanwhile, Man United will have a busy summer as interim manager Ralf Rangnick said as many as ten deals will be signed in the two transfer windows for next season. They will be busy identifying players to replace the likes of Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic who are set to leave Old Trafford.
They may also be looking for replacements for Juan Mata, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford, who have all been linked with a move away from the club next season.
