Barcelona lost 1-0 to Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Alvaro Garcia Rivera’s goal in the seventh minute was pivotal, giving the capital’s guests three vital points.
It was a difficult night for La Blaugrana, who was currently in disrepair.
Barcelona have now lost three of their last four matches, losing to Eintracht Frankfurt, Cadiz and Rayo, while narrowly defeating Real Sociedad. That spoiled Xavi Hernandez’s promising start at the Camp Nou.
And according to Mundo Deportivo, that wasn’t the only unfavorable headline from Sunday.
Frenkie de Jong He started the match but was substituted in the 60th minute by Xavi. The Dutchman broke into the floor, got rid of his leg pads, and went straight to the dressing room.
Then he returned to the bench to watch the remainder of the match, but his outburst was not received by much.
De Jong started alongside Sergio Busquets and Jaffe in a midfield three but struggled to make an impact. Nico Gonzalez was chosen to replace him.
