Diogo Dalot: Getting into the top-four spot will be ‘really difficult’ for us

Diogo Dalot admits it would be difficult to accept Manchester United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, but he wants to finish the match strong after their defeat to Arsenal effectively ended their chances in the top four.

With the summer arrival of Eric Ten Hag confirmed earlier in the week, the Red Devils followed up on a humiliating 4-0 loss at Anfield with a 3-1 defeat against a suddenly revived Arsenal side.

“It is difficult for us to accept because this club belongs to Champions LeagueDalot told MUTV.

“All I want to say is that if it is still sportingly possible, I will believe until the end. Obviously, it will be really difficult and we need to be realistic, and everyone can see that things in football can happen until the end.”

“I don’t think it should be our biggest focus right now,” he added.

“Our habits that we do every day, the training habits at Carrington, should be a good energy and with the mentality that we are going to give everything to this club because at this club we have everything.

“We have to fight for ourselves, for the club, for our families, for the fans who travel every time.

“We need everyone to mature in terms of the team and we need to be more active, want him more than them and dominate, and I think that starts from our efforts every day.”

United fell six points off the top four after playing more matches than any of their rivals at the last place in the Champions League.
