Erik ten Hag’s first words as Man United manager

New Manchester United boss Eric Ten Hag said he is excited about the challenge that awaits him following his appointment on Thursday.

United have confirmed the appointment of Eric ten Hag on a permanent basis to sign a deal until the summer of 2025.

“Premier League giants Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of Eric Ten Hag as their new coach,” a club statement read.

Speaking following his appointment, Eric said: “It is a great honor to be appointed coach of Manchester United and I am very excited about the challenge ahead. I know the history of this fantastic club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of achieving the success they deserve.”

“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these wonderful years and I can assure our fans of my full commitment and focus on getting this season done successfully before moving to Manchester United.”

The Dutchman has been at Ajax since 2017 and led the team to two Eredivisie titles as well as the Champions League semi-finals in 2019.
