Cristiano Ronaldo’s family thanked Liverpool fans after their gesture when they faced Manchester United on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo and his partner lost their infant son on Monday, and Anfield fans sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in the seventh minute and joined the fans of their fierce rivals in an impeccable applause.

Ronaldo’s sister, Elma, showed her emotions by posting screenshots of the gesture on her social media, writing: ‘Thank you Liverpool. We will never forget what you did today. She ended her message with a heart-shaped emoji.
Sister Katia, from her home in Brazil, wrote “Beyond Football” against her video against the “You’ll Never Walk Alone” chorus.
The sisters and their mother, Dolores Aveiro, wrote on Instagram in Portuguese: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t depend on your own understanding. Confess to Him in all your ways and He will direct your ways.”
