Roberto Firmino injury update | Futaa.com

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given an update on striker Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian missed Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Manchester United on Tuesday night due to a foot injury he sustained during the Man City match at the weekend.

Luis Diaz played up front alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the usual front line of three players.

The trio were on the scoring sheet in a near-perfect performance for the team at home, as Salah scored a brace.

Speaking after the match, Klopp gave an update on club number 9;

“Bobby didn’t participate because in the last stop of the City match he got something on his foot. It’s not really bad.”

Liverpool will face their rivals on Merseyside this weekend, and Klopp asked if the striker would be fit for the match, he added.

“We hope so.

“Actually, we were a bit worried but the scan was fine. But it’s still very painful and that’s why there was no chance [against Man United]. “

The victory saw Liverpool move above Man City to the top of the Premier League table, but the defending champion may regain his place by winning Wednesday night at home against Brighton.
