Arsenal’s loanee William Saliba has revealed that there is a “chance” to stay in Marseille beyond this season.
Saliba joined Marseille on loan for the period last year from Arsenal. The Frenchman had spent his time at Nice on loan, where he made 22 appearances. Since moving to Marseille, the 21-year-old has been in good shape with Ligue 1, and has been called up for the French team.
He appears to be enjoying his time with the French giants, and Ben White has established himself as a first choice under Arteta since his big-money move from Brighton alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.
Speaking to Le Parisien when asked about staying in Marseille, Saliba said: “There is always a chance. I don’t hide that I am very happy in Marseille.”
“You have developed, you have crossed a milestone. If you make it into the France squad, it’s thanks to Marseille, because there is a lot of vision.”
“It’s a very big club and it’s under a lot of pressure, but when you’re good there are a lot of good things that happen to you.”
“We’ll see in May or June depending on the discussions. Today, my future, I don’t know what it is.”
