Man United have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will not play against Liverpool tonight.
Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez announced on Monday the death of their newborn. The duo revealed in December that they were expecting twins, a boy and a girl. And on Monday evening, they confirmed, through their social media channels, the death of their newborn.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our child. It is the greatest pain any parent can feel,” a statement from the family said.
“Just the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all shocked by this loss and kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.
“Our little boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
