Manchester United interim manager Ralph Rangnick has expressed his delight at how his former players have thrived at Liverpool.
Rangnick worked with a number of key Liverpool players earlier in their career with the group including Naby Keita who said the German treated him like his “son” when they worked at Leipzig.
“It is no coincidence that they are as good as them. Six or seven of these players used to be me or our players when we signed them with our clubs when no one knew them.
“Again, it is no coincidence that this is the club with the most players from our previous clubs because their style, their style of football and the way they want to play are very similar,” Rangnick said. Their meeting is on Tuesday.
Ralf Rangnick: “It’s certainly no coincidence that Klopp has four former players for me [Firmino, Keita, Mané and Matip) because it shows that he is, in fact, looking for the same kind of players, with the same assets, with the same mentality as we do.” pic.twitter.com/KktOGdk95k
